Before your appointment, call your insurer and say that you plan to see an acupuncturist. Confirm acupuncture coverage, in-network status for James Jinwon Lee, deductible, copay or coinsurance, visit limits, excluded diagnoses, and any referral or prior-authorization requirements.

Codes to share with your insurer

Ask us to confirm the codes expected for your visit, then give them to your insurer: 99203/99213 (evaluation), 97810/97811 (manual acupuncture), 97813/97814 (electroacupuncture), and 97140. Ask what each covered code will cost you. Uncovered, unverified, or denied services are due at the clinic self-pay rate.
